HB113 - Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund, established.

Sponsor(s): Rep. Spencer Collier

Summary/Synopsis: Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund, established.
Under existing state law, there is no specific fund established in the State Treasury to receive payments from the federal Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act to provide monetary assistance to those areas of this state negatively impacted by offshore oil production and to protect coastal areas from damage and erosion.

This bill would establish the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund to receive such federal payments to provide monetary assistance to those areas of this state negatively impacted by offshore oil production and to protect coastal areas. This bill would provide the method of allocation from the fund.

League Action & Justification: LWVAL is monitoring HB 113.
